The Policy Manual is currently being reviewed and updated. BOCES has contracted with NYSSBA for a review of existing policies. The NYSSBA product is reviewed and marked up for relevance by BOCES Administrators and the BOCES Attorney; and then provided to the Board of Education Policy Advisory Committee. All participate jointly in an attempt to reach consensus. When consensus is reached, the Committee recommends the policy to the Board of Education for tentative adoption (first reading) at a scheduled Board of Education meeting. If accepted the policy is returned (second reading) to the Board of Education as a resolution, subject to further discussion and possible return to committee or for adoption.
