A combination of video and staff presentations were used to detail the proposed 2012-2013 BOCES budget and the wide variety of services it affords during the 2012 Annual Meeting, held April 4 at the Career & Technical School's Albany campus.
"Thank you to all staff who helped make this year's Annual Meeting a success," said District Superintendent Charles Dedrick. "From the staff in attendance to all those who helped with preparations for the event, the evening was a positive reflection of all the good work BOCES does every day."
The Annual Meeting has two main purposes: to fulfill a legal requirement (of providing components with information about the BOCES budget, which goes to vote April 23) and to educate components about BOCES services.
Staff from all divisions were on hand to talk about their programs and Career & Tech culinary students worked with Chefs Rother, Cooper, Dolan and Brucker to create delicious food for the attendees. Floral arrangements were provided by Meg Bugler's Floral Design class.
Capital Region BOCES Board
President Jeffrey Bradt thanked everyone for attending and also gave
a special thanks to fellow board member Robert Domenichi for his
generous donation to defray the cost of refreshments for the event.
Besides the budget
presentation, the event included the screening of a
new video
about BOCES,
and distribution of the
budget newsletter (PDF).
