BOCES begins search for Senior Executive Officer

May 19, 2017

Now that the board has appointed a new district superintendent, they have turned their focus to the hiring process for the Senior Executive Officer, the other key position in the new Executive Leadership Team.

The senior executive officer will partner with the district superintendent to form the Executive Leadership Team and provide forward-thinking collaborative leadership for the organization. The senior executive officer will handle oversight of BOCES’ programs, services and business operations. The district superintendent will focus on the state-level responsibilities, such as assisting the education commissioner with implementing statewide initiatives, overseeing the administration of state grants, and working with the regional information center on data warehousing, testing and regional planning.

The Board of Education will offer a three-year contract with a regionally competitive salary, commensurate with the preparation, qualifications, experience, and record of the successful candidate, in addition to an attractive benefits package. The Senior Executive Officer will be expected to be actively involved in community affairs and events across the Capital Region.

Applications will be accepted through July 6, 2017 with the successful candidate starting as soon as possible.
