Masonry

Demand for masons is projected to grow 12 percent during the next decade, according to federal statistics and 18 percent within New York! Through this new one-year program offered at our Schoharie campus, we will teach you the fundamentals of working with mortar and concrete, common and face brick, and cut stone.

The masonry program is based on the NCCER credentialling curriculum and will provide students with a foundational knowledge of estimating costs and time, layout and construction of various masonry and concrete projects, as well as job site safety, communication, computer-based research, and the ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.

Graduates are prepared for careers as brickmasons and blockmasons, refractory masons, cement masons and concrete finishers, segmental pavers, stonemasons, terrazzo workers and finishers, as well as work in other related careers.
