Diesel Technology

Medium and heavy duty trucks require educated and experienced technicians for their maintenance and repair. Diesel Technology students work on actual trucks and repair and operate diesel engines. Students also learn electrical/electronic theory, which they apply to computerized control systems used on todays trucks, and learn how to service and maintain a trucks chassis, steering, suspension and braking systems.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)-style testing during the Diesel Technology program prepares students to pursue certification after graduation. Upon completion of the program, students may secure employment as entry-level technicians or advance their education and training.

Diesel Technology at Career & Tech is the only high school-level program in the state to earn certification by the National AutomotiveTechnicians Education Foundation/Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (NATEF/ASE).
