This guide from the U.S. Department of Education seeks to provide educational practitioners with user-friendly tools to distinguish practices supported by rigorous evidence from those that are not.  NCLB and many federal K-12 grant programs require the use of "scientifically-based research" to guide decisions about which interventions to implement.  It contains four parts:  a description of "randomized decisions controlled trial;" how to evaluate whether an intervention is backed by "strong" evidence of effectiveness; how to evaluate whether an intervention is backed by "possible" evidence of effectiveness; and important factors to consider when implementing evidence-based intervention you r schools or classrooms.
